Yoga originated in India over 5,000 years ago, now that’s staying power! On December 11, 2014, The United Nations declared June 21, to be International Yoga Day. This date was selected because it is the longest day of the year and holds special significance in many cultures. Cool! It’s also pretty easy to celebrate both the summer Solstice and International Yoga Day with your Yoga Mat, so, belatedly, get your mat out of the closet, set it up on the floor, and join me!
Since June is also National Alzheimer’s Awareness month, let’s do another Yoga exercise together which helps to make new pathways in our brains. Enjoy the video and the start of summer!
Here are a couple of photos of the start of my summer. First, my ceremonial fire on the Solstice, then, the longest sunset of the year!
BTW, I made that huge fire pit myself when I moved here.
Best of Health,
Kathi
