I was thinking…
About my beautiful neighborhood; the birds, foxes, rabbits, hummingbirds, gofers, coyotes, and, happiest place of all – the LAKE!
I often write in the newsletters and in Facebook posts about kayaking, boating, gardening, and other adventures here in my “Beautiful Berkshires.”
I call this my own little paradise. And that’s how I truly feel.
Meanwhile, there are several of you who’ve said you’d be interested in my previous idea of a gentle hike or walk with a meditation, so I’ve been thinking about how to organize that.
A couple of areas have either a bench or picnic table to use for meditation. I can’t imagine us sitting on the grass – even on a blanket, at this time of year when ticks are a threat. We could douse ourselves in the bug spray that I recommended in my last post, but I’m not all that comfortable with that, and not sure you would be either.
So, I’ve thought about having a group of you come to my home in East Otis. We could walk around the neighborhood and down to the beach. If the beach is not crowded on the day we choose, we’ll meditate down there. If there are too many people there already, we’ll come back to my home where I will have set up chairs in various parts of my yard/garden and we’ll meditate here.
What do you think?
Please let me know if that would be something fun for you and I’ll send out a couple of possible dates.
We can also try a place in Great Barrington, called Thomas and Palmer Book, which offers hiking and has a bench and a flat stone in an area that looks out onto a bird sanctuary, so there would be some seats for meditation. We can also bring a chair or two there, as long as we don’t mind carrying them on the hiking part. I have a couple of chairs in bags with straps that are fairly easy to carry.
It’s after Memorial Day, so summer is here!
Summer is usually short so I want us to take advantage of this nice weather, in companionship, to meditate and hike while we can!
We’ll be glad we did when “old man winter” shows his face again!
Please let me know.
And, for those who live too far away to meet here in Massachusetts, a suggestion would be that you put together a group of your neighbors and friends and do a similar event where you are.
Let me know the date that you have agreed on, and I’ll be there via Zoom to lead YOUR meditation!
Let’s have some great summer fun!
Meanwhile, enjoy this video of a hummingbird at my feeder!
Best of Health,
Kathi
I would certainly enjoy participating in your walking group, whenever the event works out with my calendar!
Thanks Andrea! We’ll look forward to seeing you soon!
